Howell takes first in pure stock feature at speedway

Saturday night racing at SCS was better than ever this weekend.
After a few showers earlier in the day it was business as usual.
This Saturday night was special because each feature winner chose a child to present a special &8220;biggest little fan&8221; to after their event.
The Pure Stock feature was an all-out battle for the checkers between Chris Howell (No. 1), Larry Hattchett (No. 1) and Mark Price (no. 2)
Hatchett held the lead until Price brought out the caution with a trip over the backstretch.
On the re-start, Howell made his move, taking the lead and holding it until the checkers.
Howell was pleased have his picture taken and present the &8220;Biggest Little Fan&8221; award to Grayson Hanson.
Larry Hatchett took the second spot and Jarrett Hutchison (No.00) took the third spot.
The Hobby feature went on without incident with Phillip Burnette (No. 1) taking home the checkers.
Jose Floreze was Phillip&8217;s &8220;Biggest Little Fan&8221;. Sonny Patterson (No. 5) finished second and Wayne Lucas (No.6) finished third.
Justin Lunceford (No.20) took the win in the Pure Pony race with Kevin Niece (No. 69) taking a close second. James Spain (No.7) made his SCS debut taking home the third spot.
Lunceford presented the &8220;Biggest Little Fan&8221; award to Mikey Collum.
Johnny Butler (No. 39) held the lead in the Hogg race with Sammy Thrash (No. 72) close behind the entire race. However on the last lap, Butler&8217;s car started
to experience mechanical problems and Thrash made his move. Thrash crossed the line for his first-ever feature event win. Sammy presented a trophy to his &8216;biggest little fan&8221; Sheyanne Peoples.
The Super Ponies made there way to Shelby County Speedway Saturday night. William Moore (No.15) was leading the race until an axle broke on his car sending him into the wall and flipping down the front stretch.
Benny and Eddie Pickett were left to battle it out for the checkers. Eddie Pickett (No. 44) took the win, with Benny (No. 4) taking second
