Donations pave way for new Inverness park

The city of Hoover has received 80 acres of land and $200,000 in donations for a proposed park in Inverness from Signature Homes and MetLife.

Signature Homes and MetLife companies contributed $100,000 each for the development of the project in addition to the land.

The proposed passive park will provide walking trails and open green space for the residents of Inverness to enjoy.

&8220;The City of Hoover is excited to accept $200,000 from Signature Homes and MetLife,&8221; said Mayor Tony Petelos. &8220;This will create more green area for the residents to enjoy for years to come.&8221;

The land where the proposed park is located consists of 80 acres.

There are already trails in existence that provide access to various facilities that could be used for biking, hiking and walking.

The property is located off of Inverness Parkway about 1.5 miles from Highway 280. The entrance to the park is the same road to access the Lake Heather boat launch.
