The fourth annual Take Your Shot at Cancer American Cancer Society Tennis Tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 18 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Pelham Tennis Center.

The Tennis Center is located in Pelham Park off Highway 31. And the goal for this year&8217;s event, according to American Cancer Society Development Representative for Shelby County Stephanie Maxey, is $20,000.

She said this year the event is seeking more sponsors and participants.

The event will be a mixed doubles format. And the entry fee will be $50 per couple.

She noted there will also bee food, refreshments and a silent auction during the tournament.

And she said there would also be a drawing for a four-night stay at a condo on Navarre Beach. Up to 200 people who make a tax free $100 contribution to the American Cancer Society will have an opportunity to win the four-night stay. Donors do not have to be present to win.
