Although

some regular drivers avoided the rain Saturday night,

a few new faces made up for their absence at Shelby County Speedway in Wilsonville.

In

the Pony

Class,

rookie driver, Matthew Vazquez took his first

victory.

This week was only his fourth dirt-track event. Terry Reach put up a good fight for the checkers, but ended up

with the second place position.

Jon Blackwell finished third.

In the Hobby Class

feature event, Jason Sanford

took the win over Gary Ingram. In the heat race, Ingram lost a tire due to breaking an axle, but made his way back onto the track for the main. Sanford prevailed while Mark Owens took third.

The Pure Stock Class was the most abundant class of the night.

Larry &8220;Shrek&8221; Hatchett took his heat win and the main event win. Neal Mapes took second in the main event

after an impressive win in his heat event. Chris Howell raced strong all night in both of his events. Howell took third in his main event.

In the Hogg class,

William Adams came out to SCS to take the win in the feature event. David Davis

took second in the car known as &8220;eyeballs&8221;, and Sammy Thrash took third in his new car that he and his pit crew have deemed &8220;black beauty&8221;.
