Thomas Renfro Hughes, 93, of Underwood, Ala. died July 31, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Rocko Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. The Rev. Todd Burr and the Rev. Bob Mahaffey presided. Hughes was laid to rest at Ryans Cemetery in Maylene.

Surviving are his wife, Nettie F. Hughes, of Underwood, daughter Peggy (DeWayne) Riffe, of Underwood, son Jack (Jean) Hughes, of Anniston, brothers J.D. (Lorraine) Hughes, of Underwood and Howard Hughes, of Calera, grandchildren Brandon Rice, Thomas W. Hughes, Rachel Hughes, step-grandson Brandon Riffe, great-grandson Austin Rice and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rockco Funeral Home presided.
