Looking for information about being a good grandparent? Have visitation problems? Raising grandchildren? The AARP Grandparent Information Center (GIC) is here to help! We have a variety of resources to help grandparents in various family roles.

Who Does the AARP GIC Serve?

We provide information for grandparents, including:

-Grandparents raising grandchildren

-Grandparents who have problems with visiting their grandchildren

-Step-grandparents

-&8216;Traditional&8217; grandparents who want to have a positive role in their grandchildren&8217;s lives.

What Does the AARP GIC Offer?

We serve grandparents in a variety of ways:

-A Web site with lots of articles and message boards

-Booklets in English and Spanish

-&8220;The GIC Voice,&8221; a free newsletter for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.

-Information and referral to grandparent support groups and agencies

-Networking and assistance to local, state, and national organizations.

-Research about grandparenting.

-Support for AARP state offices that are working with grandparents at the local level.

-Advocacy for grandparents in collaboration with AARP&8217;s State Affairs and Legal Advocacy groups.
