Charles William Brooks

Mr. Brooks, age 60, of Helena, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.

He was born in Tennessee on Oct. 13, 1945, the son of the late Mr. Weaver Weldon Brooks and Mrs. Loreda Armstrong Brooks. Mr. Brooks proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He retired after thirty-three years from Lafarge in Calera. He was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of &8220;Harley Owner Group&8221; (Hog).

Memorial Services will be held at Helena United Methodist Church on Sat., Sept. 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Melvin McCormick officiating.

Survivors of Mr. Brooks include his loving wife of twenty years, Jeannie; daughters, Jennifer Brooks of Birmingham, Deneen Ford (Keith) of Las Vegas and Amanda McNellie of Helena; sons, Brandon Brooks (Heather) of Calera and Dean Roberson (Monica) of Ohio; sister, Eva Harding of Jackson, Fla.; four grandchildren, two nieces, Stacy Walton (James) of Pelham and Carrie Ledsom (Keith) of Jacksonville, Fla.

The family would like to thank friends, UAB Staff on the ninth floor, his doctors and church members for all their loving support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mr. Brooks to the Leukemia Society. Charter Funeral Home in Calera directing.
