Pelham downs Bryant on Holland’s three scores

The 6A Pelham Panthers rebounded from a season opening loss to Spain Park to crush Paul Bryant in a region encounter at home 36-0 last Friday night.

The win places Pelham at 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in regional play.

In the win over Paul Bryant, the Panthers made 15 first downs, rushed for 93 yards and passed for 278 yards for a total offense of 371 yards.

The home team lost one fumble and was penalized four times for 30 yards.

Pather quarterback Josh Thomason completed 15 of 18 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns.

Wes Holland rushed five times for 38 yards and two touchdowns and caught seven passes for 142 yards and one touchdown.

Also making touchdown catchers were Isaac Bivens who caught six passes for 105 yards and a TD and Shawn Lynch who caught one pass for 5 yards and a TD.

Pelham will go on the road to play another regional opponent in Northridge this week
