Yellow Jackets drop first region contest

A 2-point conversion spelled the difference between victory and defeat for the Vincent Yellow Jackets last Thursday night.
The Yellow Jackets fell to the Fultondale Wildcats at home 14-12, dropping to 3-3, 3-1.
Their 2A area record puts the Yellow Jackets in a three-way tie with West Brook Christian and J.B. Pennington.
Spradley said his kids played hard against Fultondale on Friday.
He added that the biggest reasons for the loss were a failure by the Yellow Jackets to score inside the Wildcats&8217; 1.
Another mistake was their failure to make a 2-point conversion.
Both teams scored in the first quarter and both teams missed extra point tries.
The Yellow Jackets scored on a 14-yard Tavoris Threatt run while Fultondale scored on a 67-yard pass play.
Fultondale scored in the second quarter on a 7-yard run and added the 2-point conversion.
The Yellow Jackets answered in the fourth quarter on a 3-yard Orlando Pelmer run, but a 2-point conversion pass failed.
Vmcent plays at Westbrook Friday night.
Head football coach Dwight Spradley said a win by Vincent at West Brook Christian Friday would go a long way to help his Yellow Jackets make the playoffs
