Funeral service for Byron P. Boggan Sr., age 84, of Westover, was at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 at Bolton-Letlow Chapel.

Burial followed at Union Methodist Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home. Mr. Boggan&8217;s grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mr. Boggan, who passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, was born on September 6, 1922 in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Martha Carolyn Newby Boggan; a son, William David Boggan; a brother, Stanley Dennis Boggan; and a sister, Sarah Jane Brooks.

He is survived by four sons, Byron Pickett Boggan, Jr., Sammy Austin Boggan, Ned Demby (Victoria) Boggan, and Van Alan (Charlene)

Boggan; two brothers, James Austin Boggan and Lloyd Stephens Boggan; one sister, Melrose Bergeron; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Brandon, Sammy Jr., David, Wendy, Ned Jr., Ryan, Joshua and Sarah; and 13 great-grandchildren.
