Dear Editor,
There is a significant construction effort going on U.S. Highway 280 and Shelby County 41. Highway 280 is reduced to one-lane during certain periods. Gaining entry to 280 from 41 or to proceed across 80 is a precarious endeavor.
Besides the danger involved, it takes time. Many times there are State Patrol vehicles &8216;parked&8217; in the vicinity with blinkers flashing. Why couldn&8217;t they be used for traffic control during peak periods?
And/or the Shelby County Sheriff&8217;s Department to provide a Deputy at critical periods of time? Someone appears to be sweeping glass from a recent fender bender almost every time I try to gain entry to 280.
