Bessie (Bett) Lee Oliver Chance, age 93, of Pelham, went to be with her Savior on January 14, 2025. Survivors include Daughter, Kay Chance Jones (Gary) of Pelham; Sons, Ray Chance of Pelham; Steve Chance (Brenda) of Chelsea; Jerry Chance (Janie) of McCalla; Daughter-in-law, Becky Chance of Pelham; grandchildren, Josh Jones, Jeremy Chance (Jennifer); Gary Chance (Tori); Melissa Pitts (Joey), Michael Chance (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Lucas, Aubree, Gabi, Parker, James; and Halie. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, James Chance, son, Wayne Chance, grandson, Brad Chance, and parents Mae Oliver and Buford Oliver. Visitation will be Sunday, January 19, 2025, 5:00-7:00 p.m.; Funeral Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Burial followed at Southern Heritage Cemetery. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved and was loved; she will be greatly missed.
