For the second-straight season, Thompson’s young signal caller has been named among the best players in the entire country after another successful year with the Warriors.

Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American First Team selection when the national high school sports site released its teams on Thursday, Jan. 9.

This is not Seaborn’s first honor from MaxPreps as the site named him the 2023 National Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American First Team selection before giving him Preseason Sophomore All-American honors in 2024.

This past season, Seaborn racked up 2,672 yards and 26 passing touchdowns against seven interceptions with a 64.2 percent completion rate.

As a result, he is nominated for Class 7A Back of the Year for the first time along with teammate Anquon Fegans and Central-Phenix City wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw.

He also secured Class 7A All-State First Team and All-County Second Team honors for his success in 2024, which was his second straight season where he earned All-State and All-County spots after he was an All-State Second Team and All-County First Team selection in 2023.

Seaborn won his second Class 7A state championship in his third season playing for the Warriors after he led Thompson to five straight wins to finish out the season, including an upset win on the road at Auburn High School in the second round and a victory over Central-Phenix City in the state championship game, avenging last season’s Super 7 loss to the Red Devils.

He helped Thompson average 31.8 points per game on offense as he earned regular season victories over top teams such as Lipscomb Academy, Vestavia Hills and Hewitt-Trussville and came within a point of beating Georgia 6A state champion Grayson, Clay-Chalkville and Hoover.

Seaborn is one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the entire country. 247Sports lists him as a four-star and the No. 9 quarterback in his class. He holds 22 offers, including from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee.
