NORTH SHELBY – The newest preparations and plans are being made for Asbury United Methodist Church’s upcoming children’s consignment sale.
Registration is officially open to be a consignor or volunteer at the 18th biannual Giggles and Grace Spring Sale, which will be held Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15 at the church.
Every sale, numerous children’s items like gently-used clothes, shoes, toys, books, puzzles, games, baby furniture and much more are available to purchase from the consignors that sign up.
Giggles and Grace also serves as a food drive to help stock the church’s food pantry. Asbury welcomes canned goods and other non-perishable items from all consignors, volunteers and the shoppers who simply wish to donate to the church.
The sale is completely volunteer run, and all proceeds from the two days of shopping go completely towards either paying the consignors or the Asbury UMC Youth and Children Ministries.
Anyone who wishes to sign up as a consignor has until Tuesday, Feb. 11, while volunteers have until Thursday, Feb. 13 to register.
In addition, those who volunteer a minimum of two hours during the sale will be allowed to shop early on the Thursday before the sale.
The sale is free and open to the public, but the church asks that to ease the shopping process, shoppers bring their own shopping bags, baskets or a wagon to help carry the goods they choose to purchase. Cash and cards are accepted for payment, but Asbury will not accept checks.
