ALABASTER – The Thompson Warriors poured on the points as they followed up a 68-21 win over the JAG Jaguars on Saturday, Nov. 16 with an even bigger victory in Alabaster, this time cracking triple digits.

Thompson defeated JAG 111-27 on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Warrior Arena to extend its win streak to three games in a row.

The Warriors set a blistering pace in the first half, scoring 56 points before halftime, and continued to match that output through the end of the game to break the 100-point mark even with just seven players active for the contest.

KK Fenderson and Sydney Carroll each hit double figures for the opening half as Fenderson scored 11 points and Coney started her night with 10 points in the first quarter. Destinee Ealy also added in eight points off a 3-pointer, field goal and three free throws.

Thompson’s defense held the Jaguars to just six points in the opening period and took a 31-6 lead into the second quarter.

The trio of Fenderson, Ealy and Carroll continued to lead the way for the Warriors offense as Carroll and Ealy each added six points to their totals and Fenderson scored five points to give her 15 for the half.

This time though, they got help from three of their teammates as Alana Wrencher, Kayla Russell and Nadya French each scored in the second to make it six Thompson players on the scoresheet in the quarter.

Combined with another strong defensive effort, the Warriors led 56-11 going into the halftime break.

Fenderson had another double-digit scoring quarter in the third with 13 points off of six made shots from the field. Ealy joined her with her first double-figure quarter, scoring 10 points in the third, including a 3-pointer and a converted and-1 opportunity.

Coney added in six points and Russell and French each scored baskets in Thompson’s biggest quarter yet. The Warriors added on 34 points to their total and held a commanding 90-24 lead ahead of the fourth quarter.

With triple digits well within reach, Thompson maintained its fast scoring pace to blow past that threshold and keep piling on the points.

Ealy and Russell each scored eight points in the fourth as the latter became the fourth Warrior to enter double figures, and Coney scored a pair of field goals to help Thompson reach 111 points.

The Warriors surrendered just three points on the other end of the floor in the fourth, sealing the 84-point win to extend their win streak to three in a row.

Fenderson, Ealy and Coney all scored at least 25 points each as Ealy led the way with 32 points, Fenderson finished with 31 points and Coney dropped 26 points. Russell scored 13 points, French earned six points and Wrencher rounded out the scoring with three points in the win.

Thompson improved to 7-5 with the win and will next face Helena on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Warrior Arena.
