Vincent plans annual Christmas parade, celebrations for Dec. 6

VINCENT – With only a few weeks to go, the city of Vincent is gearing up for its annual Christmas parade which will take place this year on Friday, Dec. 6.
Residents hoping to catch a glance of the festive floats in the city of Vincent’s parade and celebrations can visit Vincent City Hall at 25 Florey Street on Dec. 6. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop at vendor booths, watch the parade, enjoy food, meet Santa and join the city for its annual tree lighting.
The winners of float decorations and the Downtown Store Front Decorating contest will be announced at the celebration. There will also be giveaways for both adults and children.
Pre-parade festivities, including craft vendors, gift shopping and food trucks, will begin at 4 p.m. with the Christmas parade at 6 p.m. and the giveaways and tree lighting set to follow. Judging for the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a first place award and runner up award for float decorations to be announced after the parade concludes. Parade winners will receive a trophy.
Those interested in participating in the parade with a float or vehicle may fill out an entry form off of the city’s website at Cityofvincental.com. The parade lineup will begin at 4 p.m. and Vincent Middle High School and participants are asked to be in line no later than 5:30 p.m. The city requests that participation forms for the parade be submitted by Thursday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. No one dressed as Santa Claus is permitted to participate in the parade.
Vendors interested in joining in the celebrations may also fill out a participation agreement form on the city’s website.
