Graveside entombment service for Emogene “Jean” Adams age 88 of Moulton, formerly of Birmingham will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:00pm at Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum with Dr. Jim Cooley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. A time of visitation will be from 7:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday evening at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, Alabama.
Mrs. Adams, who was born January 21, 1936, in Shelby County, Alabama to Ruby Lee Argo and Elizabeth Paralee Smitherman Argo, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Alabama.
She was a 1954 graduate of Calera High School, attended Howard College in Birmingham (now Sanford) from 1954 to 1956, attended La Salle Extension University completing an Interior Decorating Certificate in 1970. She worked at Hayes Aircraft Corporation in Birmingham from 1954 until 1961 and worked at State Farm Life Insurance Company in Birmingham. In 1970, she opened Jean’s Interiors and owned and operated it until 1980. Jean was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Birmingham where she enjoyed participating in the Choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gerald Adams, three brothers, James Argo, Joe Argo and Ray Argo and by three sisters, Bessie Mae Milstead, Eloise Garrett and Frances Lucas.
She is survived by her son, Stacy Adams (Margie) of Hartselle, AL
Two Grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Adams and Jackson Walker Adams, both of Hartselle, AL
