HOOVER – Inverness Corners is now home to a new clothing shop.

The Clotherie Boutique opened on Sept. 30 and owner Rachel Hoagland said she’s glad to have a business on this busy corner of U.S. 280.

“It was a really great first day,” she said. “People came in and said they’ve seen our advertisements on Facebook, or have been driving by waiting to see when we were going to open.”

Hoagland and her mother, Dee Jernigan, opened their first location in Alabaster last year and had been wanting to find a spot on the 280 corridor for some time.

“We enjoy fashion and shopping and all the things, and we enjoy working together,” she said. “We thought it would be fun so we just went out on a limb and started it and loved it.”

When the previous clothing store in that space closed, Hoagland said they were able to get the lease on the 1,800 square foot building, put their own touches on it and turn it into their own space.

While some items are carried at both store locations, Hoagland said that the Inverness location has more dressier items, whereas the Alabaster location has more casual clothes.

“We have lots of dresses, paired outfits, the latest in tops, styles, trends, accessories and jewelry,” she said. “We have shoes from heels, to boots and sandals and sneakers. Anything that a woman needs, we carry all that—the latest styles and trends.”

Hoagland said that the staff at the Alabaster store are super dependable, and she will be bringing one of them to work at the Inverness location each week. Hoagland said she will primarily be at the Inverness location to be able to get ready for what their customers want.

“I love to have women come in and find something they feel beautiful in,” she said. “That’s the best feeling in the world. It’s so fun to pick things out at market (in Atlanta) and bring them back and have something unique that people can wear and feel great in. We love providing that for people, and we’re excited to bring that 280.”

As for plans for a third location, Hoagland said for now, she wants to do everything she can with the two stores and make sure they’re happy with those before moving forward.

Guests can shop in store or online at Shoptheclotherie.com and follow on social media on Instagram @shoptheclotherie, along with Facebook and Tik Tok.

“We post whenever we get new arrivals or a new collection so our customers know,” Hoagland said. “We’re going to do a grand opening event in the future.”

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
