PELHAM – One of the largest bands in the country will make its way to Pelham High School on Wednesday, Sept. 18 as part of a special musical night.

The University of Alabama Million Dollar Band and its 400 members will be part of the Crimson Cavalcade event at the high school, bringing together high school bands with one of the top collegiate bands in the country.

“We’re excited to host a big event on Sept. 18 at Pelham High School, which will feature the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band, along with several other high school bands from the Birmingham area,” Pelham City Schools Director of Communication Nicole Knight said.

The event, which starts at 6 p.m., will feature seven high school bands in addition to the Million Dollar Band and the University of Alabama Trombone Choir.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. ahead of the UA Trombone Choir’s performance, which will be the first showing of the night at 6 p.m.

That will be followed by American Christian Academy a few minutes later, and bands will then follow every 25 minutes.

Local bands included at this event will include Briarwood Christian School, Shelby County High School and Pelham High School.

Other attendees include Shades Valley High School, Minor High School and Hoover High School.
