HELENA – Longtime Helena resident and community leader Billy Rosener announced his candidacy for mayor of Helena on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Rosener shared that he is eager to bring a servants heart and a fresh perspective to Helena’s leadership by drawing on decades of business experience, community involvement and a love for the city.

“Serving others has always been close to my heart,” Rosener said. “I’ve worn many hats over the years—coaching t-ball and Helena Rec League soccer, leading as president of Gobblers Knob’s Board of Directors, serving as secretary of an investment club with a  multi-million dollar portfolio and volunteering for city events. Yet, out of everything, one of the things I hold most dear is my involvement with the summer concert series, where Helena’s community truly shines.”

Rosener, a retired Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and realtor by trade, has managed multi-million dollar projects and led teams through organizational change. He believes his business experience and team leadership is a critical asset to the city as it navigates substantial capital projects that will shape Helena’s future for decades to come.

“I believe now, more than ever, Helena needs a council and mayor with significant business experience and acumen while being committed to transparency,” Rosener emphasized. “Clear, honest communication, setting realistic expectations and ensuring input from those affected were the keys to my success in business, and these are qualities I know will benefit our city.”

Rosener and his wife, Allie, have called Helena home for more than 20 years, raising their three children—Mackenzie, Ryan and Miah—in a community that has doubled in population while retaining its small-town charm. From their first home in Cedar Bend to watching their kids thrive in local sports and activities, the Roseners shared that they have embraced Helena’s rich, family-oriented culture.

“Helena is special,” Rosener said. “In a time when negativity can dominate our news feeds, I see the good in our community every day. There’s always room for growth, but if we focus on the positive and continually improve, the brighter Helena’s future will be.”

Rosener is particularly proud of the connections he and his family have made over the years, from being on the sports fields and in the states, to spontaneous front yard BBQs to school parties and community events.

Rosener shared that it is this sense of belonging and being a servant to others which motivates his run for office.

“This is a place where friendships turn into family, where we celebrate together and support each other,” Rosener said. “It’s time for our leadership to reflect those values.”

As mayor, Rosener is committed to accessibility, fiscal responsibility, government transparency and building on Helena’s strong community spirit. With his leadership experience and passion for service, he claims he is ready to help guide Helena toward an even brighter future.

“Every citizen in Helena will have access to my cell phone number, it’s (205) 482-7741, and I am committed to open and honest communication,” Rosener said. “Our next mayor must be responsible and accessible to the citizens of Helena. During this next season, I am committed to meeting my fellow citizens to learn what is most important to them and earn their vote.”
