PELL CITY – Representing the city of Montevallo, kindergartener Aaliyah Good recently won the title of Mini Miss Alabama Princess at the Little Miss Alabama pageant at the Pell City Center of the Performing Arts on Sunday, July 28.

The daughter of Holland Woods and Jeremiah Good, Aaliyah is five years old and just started her first year of kindergarten. Her current hobbies include dancing, tumbling and playing with her siblings.

“Her dad and I are so proud of her for just being her sassy, silly self out there on stage and in general always trying her best and loving herself for who she is,” Woods said.

Little Miss Alabama was Aaliyah’s first ever pageant, and she came back to Montevallo with the titles of Mini Miss Alabama Princess, Most Photogenic and Most Beautiful.

“She felt very beautiful, and she was a little sassy because she’s always sassy,” Woods said. “She was very excited that she had won her first ever little pageant.”

Little Miss Alabama is a pageant open to several age groups from newborns in the Baby Miss Alabama pageant to women 25 years and older in the Ms. Alabama pageant. No experience is required, so even first time pageant contestants such as Aaliyah are able to compete.

Woods shared that the whole family is proud of Aaliyah and her achievements.

“It makes my husband and I very proud,” Woods said. “We always knew that she was going to be a star in whatever she does. We always push her to be herself and be proud of her natural beauty.”
