FROM STAFF REPORTS
HOOVER – Jefferson State Community College, The Shelby County Chamber and 58 INC—Shelby County’s economic development corporation—are coming together to offer a complimentary series of training opportunities during the month of October.
The free training sessions will focus on skills that all leaders, supervisors or managers need to be more effective.
“This is an excellent training opportunity for individuals identified for more responsibility within your organization,” Karen Williams, The Shelby County Chamber’s manager of business and workforce development, shared. “Training areas include: leadership, communication, teamwork and leading multiple generations.”
Companies are invited to register their personnel for this opportunity, however, individuals are welcome to register themselves. Spots are limited to the first 25 participants, so it is strongly recommended participants make their reservations early.
The Shelby County Leadership Skills sessions include: Session S1 “Building a Leadership Foundation” scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4; Session S2 “Leading Through Others” scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11 and Session S3 “Leading Oneself” scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25. Leadership S1 is the recommended first course followed by Leadership S2, ending with Leadership S3. All of the training sessions will be held on the designated days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jefferson State Community College’s Shelby/Hoover campus located at 4600 Valleydale Road.
