After ending the 2023 season with MaxPreps All-American honors, Trent Seaborn started 2024 with some national recognition as well.

The Thompson quarterback was named to the Preseason Sophomore All-American First Team by MaxPreps on Friday, Aug. 16.

Seaborn joined Dunham’s Elijah Haven out of Louisiana as the two quarterbacks selected to the First Team, which recognized the top 56 players nationwide in the Class of 2027.

He was also one of four Alabama players selected to the Preseason Sophomore All-American list, including Jackson running back Ezavier Crowell, Moody linebacker Ba’Roc Willis and Vigor linebacker Jabarrius Willis.

Seaborn’s recognition comes on the heels of a headline-grabbing freshman season where he guided the Warriors to success.

In his first full season as a starter, he threw for 2,601 yards and 27 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 72 percent while facing some of the state’s top teams in Class 7A.

That included five touchdown passes in the 2024 playoffs as he led Thompson to the Class 7A state title game for the sixth straight season in a runner-up finish.

His performance led to a pair of national honors from MaxPreps as he not only earned a spot on the Freshman All-American First Team but won the site’s Freshman of the Year award.

In addition to his nationwide acclaim, Seaborn earned All-State Second Team honors for Class 7A as well as an All-County First Team spot.

He will lead the Warriors once again as the starting quarterback as the team enters the season as the No. 2 ranked team in Class 7A in hopes of winning a fourth state championship in five seasons.
