PELHAM – Riders are dusting off their leather and pink T-shirts ahead of the 16th annual Revvin’ for Research charity motorcycle ride that is set to take place on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Presented by Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson in Pelham and ProcessBarron, Revvin’ 4 Research’s 16th annual outing will set-off and conclude its round-circuit ride at Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson beginning at 2 p.m.

Over its various iterations, the annual charity ride has successfully raised over $234,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama and its mission of funding research focused toward fighting and bringing an end to breast cancer.

Founded in 1996, the BCRFA is a nonprofit organization that has secured investments of $15 million toward that goal with the added assurance that all funding stays in Alabama while affecting a worldwide impact.

“Revvin’ 4 Research is more than just a motorcycle ride,” said Beth Davis, president and CEO of BCRFA. “It symbolizes hope, progress and a future without breast cancer. Participating in events like Revvin’ is crucial to making this future a reality. While all funding remains local, the impact is global.”

More than 300 motorcyclists are already expected to take part in this year’s ride, which is scheduled to last for roughly an hour as riders embark on a police escorted tour of Shelby County.

The rate for registration is $35 for a single rider or $60 for two-up. In addition to the ride itself, registration costs will also cover an event T-shirt while supplies last. Online registration will close on Thursday, Sept. 26. Those who register prior to that cutoff will also receive an exclusive service coupon at Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson.

Interested riders are encouraged to register by Sept. 2 to ensure their preferred shirt size remains available. Riders can also register on-site on the day of the event beginning at noon.

After the ride, participants will also be invited to enjoy music and a meal provided by Chef Jason Dodd of Breaking Bread Catering, a restaurant and catering company located in Attalla that services central Alabama.

Guests can also make additional donations for a chance to win a custom stone knife and arrowhead necklace offered by Pat’s Knives of Helena.

Those interested in participating in this year’s ride can find more event details and online registration at Revvin4research.com.
