MONTEVALLO – Montevallo Elementary School was abuzz with smiles and positivity as readied teachers welcomed students back for the start of the new academic year on Thursday, Aug. 8.
“We have had a fantastic first day, filled with excitement and joy,” Montevallo Elementary School Principal Wendy Cespedes said. “We were thrilled to welcome back our sweet students and their families, who brought so much enthusiasm and positivity to our school community.”
For many of the beaming bulldogs, the morning signified their first day among the bustling halls of Montevallo Elementary and within the broader Shelby County Schools system. With fresh faces, they poured into the halls adorned with new bookbags and wide smiles, ready to embrace a new year of learning.
To celebrate that important occasion, the teachers also opened their doors to the parents, who joined the students as special guests and helped them navigate the halls.
“Our first day began with a special touch, as all families were invited to walk their students to their classrooms, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere,” Cespedes said. “This heartwarming tradition sets the tone for a year full of learning, growth and togetherness.”
According to Cespedes, it is also a tone that signals a host of brand new and inspiring opportunities that move toward the success for not only every student, but for every teacher at Montevallo Elementary School as well.
“We are grateful to our dedicated staff, supportive families and eager students for making the first day truly memorable,” Cespedes said. “Here’s to a wonderful start and many more great days to come at Montevallo Elementary School.
