Excitement is brewing and spreading by word of mouth in Pelham as two businesses gear up to expand into the community—promising to bring delicious flavors and fresh opportunities to prime locations right in front of the city’s public library. At a recent City Council meeting, plans were unveiled for economic incentives that will result in the construction of a new retail space for Edgar’s Bakery and a spot for relative area newcomer Waldo’s Chicken and Beer.

Those announcements come hot on the heels of the city’s new Jack’s location, which has seen an expedited construction process rapidly bringing the project to fruition.

With those deals, Edgar’s Bakery, a familiar presence and local favorite known for its trademark baked goods and local charm, is now primed to start construction of a brand-new retail location in the Pelham Central Park development. From this location—which will be supported and supplied by their original location, which is also seeing a new expansion and upgrade—shoppers at the development, city park and the Pelham Public Library will be within walking distance of freshly baked goods.

Over in Parcel D of the same development, Waldo’s Chicken and Beer is also getting ready to close deals and break ground. Once completed, Pelham residents will have a brand-new go-to spot for crispy chicken and good times with friends and family.

On top of the additional flavors and options of choice that are set to become available to Pelham’s residents, what these new businesses also represent are the addition of new opportunities and much needed jobs for those in the local community.

Upon completion, these projects will signal a massive commercial leap forward for the community and represent a big step that shows Pelham remains serious about growth

As these businesses ready to rev up their ovens and fryers, it is also likely that their success will further inspire more investment both in Pelham and the surrounding area. And with that investment will come opportunities and developments that will further engineer success in Pelham, ultimately creating an even better place to live and work.
