MONTEVALLO – Area disc golfers will soon have a returning tournament in which to display their skills and contribute to a good cause next month.

Returning for its third annual outing, the Team Lehmann, Keller Williams Realty Metro South Disc Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 11 at the University of Montevallo’s Disc Golf Course.

The event, as in past years, will benefit Shelby Emergency Assistance, a nonprofit organization and charity that serves those in need throughout Shelby County.

The tournament will make use of all 18 holes on the course and the day of play will be broken up between two rounds, with the games taking place from 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.

Registration for the event will cost $30 per player with an additional $10 fee applying to any player without a current up-to-date PDGA membership.

The player divisions that will be represented at the tournament are as follows:

•  Mixed Amateur 1
•  Women’s Amateur 1
•  Mixed Amateur 40 plus
•  Women’s Amateur 40 plus
•  Mixed Amateur 50 plus
•  Women’s Amateur 50 plus
•  Mixed Amateur 55 plus
•  Women’s Amateur 55 plus
•  Mixed Amateur 60 plus
•  Women’s Amateur 60 plus
•  Mixed Amateur 2
•  Women’s Amateur 2
•  Mixed Amateur 3
•  Women’s Amateur 3
•  Mixed Amateur 4
•  Women’s Amateur 4
•  Mixed Junior 18
•  Girls’ Junior 18

Registered players will be presented with a value pack that includes a custom disc, water bottle and other items. The event raffle will include other dyed discs, disc bags, rare discs and many other items.

Organizers for the event are also advertising that sponsorship opportunities for the event are still readily available and levels will be split into a number of categories.

Those categories are as follows:

•  Castle – $2,500
•  Palace – $1,000
•  Mansion – $500
•  Chateau – $250
•  Manor – $100

The sponsor who purchases a castle level sponsorship will have the ability to be the only sponsor featured on an exclusive disc given to each player. Additionally, only one sponsor per business type will be available for the palace level sponsorship.

All sponsorships will include features in social media posts by the event organizers and displays in tournament packets and signage on the course during the event. Individual hole sponsorships at $50 per hole are also available.
