HELENA – Owners Bert and Erin Davis of Daysol Coffee announced their intentions to turn off the lights for their Old Town Helena location for the final time through a message posted to their social media accounts Thursday, Jan. 11.
The closure, slated for March 15, marks the latest business closure in the Old Town area and follows last month’s closure of Dondi and Shell’s Food Oasis on Dec. 29.
“It is with lots of prayer and thorough consideration that we make this difficult announcement,” the couple said. “We would like to personally thank all the loyal customers and friends who have supported our Old Town location.”
The couple further commented on the great number of friends and relationships that they have fostered in the Helena community since opening the store three years ago.
“We have personally sat and spent hours in our store talking with many of you about your life, your family and everything in between,” the couple said. “Those conversations and memories have definitely shaped (us) and the direction of Daysol. So this has been a very hard decision.”
The decision to close their Helena location is one born from a desire to focus on family and to reduce their daily commute.
In the announcement, the couple also confirmed that their new business location, located at Bluff Park, will soon open for business and will feature the business’ collaboration with Good Neighbor Baking.
“With that location being just a mile from our home, we feel what is best for our family and our business is to consolidate all Daysol retail operations into the Bluff Park store,” said the couple.
Helena residents who are familiar with Daysol’s products can be comforted to know that the operation will still have its products available for sale in Helena through other Old Town businesses and storefronts, such as Helena Drugs and Oversoul Brewing.
“If you’re a home barista you’ll still be able to get Daysol easily,” the couple said. “And remember, you can always order our coffee through our website.”
Daysol’s website also offers its customers subscription that ensures their loyal local customers receive a delivery each month without the need to be reminded or making a trip into town. However, for many in Helena their product will always still be worth the trip.
“Keep an eye out for our opening date in Bluff Park,” they said. “Many of our customers have already told us that they’ll come buy our coffee no matter where we are. We hope to see you there.”
