John Thomas Cain, Jr., age 71, of Columbiana, passed away Friday, July 17.

The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Friday, July 24 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dale Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Cain, and only son, Keith D. Cain.

He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Hamby (Jennifer) and Karen Garrett (Ferman); and five grandchildren, Hannah and David Hazel, Natalee Stockton (Jared), Trevor Garrett, and Alex Cain.

Thomas retired from the Shelby County Highway Department. He enjoyed working on his cattle farm with his wife on a daily basis. He took care of all the cattle without even a care in the world. He loved to hunt and fish. He was the hardest worker you could have ever met. If he told you he would do something, he would always get it done. Everyone that knew him knew he loved his family with everything he had.
