HELENA – Helena City Councilwoman Alice Lobell (Ms. Alice) announced she is seeking re-election for Place 3 in the city’s upcoming municipal election on August 25.

Lobell was first elected four years ago, which she is grateful for, and now she hopes to continue helping a city she loves.

“Four years ago I was extremely honored by the citizens of Helena when they voted for me to become a member of Helena City Council,” Lobell said. “During my tenure on the council I have worked diligently at keeping Helena the place we love while supporting growth opportunities meant to enhance the quality of life in Helena.”

As a retired educator, Lobell is placing a large portion of her focus on education and the youth of Helena.

“I believe that the youth of a city is one of its most valuable assets,” she said. “You will often see me lending my support at youth sporting events, school programs, school productions and award ceremonies. Our youth represent a huge aspect of life in Helena.

“During my four years on the council we have returned close to $500,000 from educational tax revenues to the Helena schools,” she said. “I am a member of Leadership Shelby County (class of 2019) and now serve on its alumni board. Through this group I work with the youth of Shelby County as a mentor for Youth Leadership Shelby County program.”

Lobell is currently the council liaison for the Helena Teen Council and has been instrumental in the group’s involvement with the city.

“The Helena Teen Council attends all city council meetings and is present at many city functions,” she said.

Lobell said she loves serving the city of Helena and hopes she’ll get to continue helping the city moving forward.

“I love Helena and I hope to continue my work on the city council,” she said. “It is a privilege to serve our great community.”
