Judith Faye Albright Jones, age 83, of Montevallo, passed away Monday, June 22. She was born on Nov. 20, 1936.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 45 years, George Hugh Jones; sister, Ronda A. Moffit of Flagstaff, Arizona; nieces, Jackie Sue Albright Burnett of Birmingham, Karen A. Wood of Auburn, Cynthia Grinde, Cecilia Pendergast, and a very special niece, Cathy Pendergast, all of Daytona Beach, Florida; and nephew, Terry Gregg, Sr. of Montevallo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lydia Ingram Albright and Ferman Albright; brothers, John Douglas Albright, CDR, U.S. Navy (Retired) and Ferman Jackson “Jack” Albright; sister, Sarah Elizabeth A. Pendergast; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A 1959 graduate of the University of Montevallo (Alabama College) and in 1975, Mrs. Jones earned Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and was a member of the Alabama State Bar. Mrs. Jones retired in 2003 after serving 33 years on the staff of the Hon. J. Foy Guin, Jr., Unites States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.
A private memorial ceremony will be scheduled to return Judy to the soil of the old family farm that gave her life.
