Miranda Ann Avery, age 76, of Alabaster, passed away Thursday, May 14. Miranda was born Jan. 18, 1944.

She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1962. Following high school, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Huntingdon College. Miranda taught elementary education for several years in Fort Walton Beach. She was a member of Forest Lake Bible Church in Niceville, Florida, then her and her husband moved to Mountain Brook Bible Chapel where Miranda was thoroughly involved with the children’s church. For the past 30 years, she was a member of Bluff Park Bible Church. She was accomplished at crochet, donating to anyone who was in need.

Ms. Avery is survived by her husband, Edward Avery, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Virgie Dykes, and her brother, John Dykes.

A funeral service for Miranda will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the funeral service will be a burial at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
