Christy Vacarella Mayhall, age 51, of Alabaster, left us Sunday, May 3.

She was born in Birmingham on Nov. 22, 1968, to Ross Vacarella and Karen Mullins Vacarella.

Christy is predeceased by her father, Ross Vacarella.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, John Mayhall, and three children, John Ross, Casey, and Matthew. She is also survived by her mother, Karen Mullins Vacarella.

Christy attended Calera High School where she graduated in 1987. While there she was active in the band and made numerous life-long friends. From 9^th through 12^th grades, Christy was also a skilled and stunning majorette.

The most loving and attentive of mothers, she was always deeply involved in any sports activity or outside interest of her children. She would be the first to plan and implement a party or gathering, no matter how much preparation was needed. Including, but not limited to, the baking of an impressive cake, at which she was quite proficient.

There was no holiday that was allowed to pass without Christy making certain that her vast collection of decorations was employed to make the occasion as festive as possible.
