CHELSEA – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office notified Chelsea residents that deputies were actively searching for a robbery suspect in the area of U.S. 280 and Shelby County 280 (Old Hwy. 280).
A robbery of individuals inside a business occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 17, in the 100 Block of Chelsea Point Drive, according to SCSO Facebook posts.
“Deputies are actively searching for a black male suspect possibly wearing a black hoodie and grey pants,” the post read. “The male suspect is approximately 6’4,” 200 pounds and was last known to be armed and should be considered dangerous. The suspect was last seen in the area of Old Hwy. 280, between U.S. Hwy. 280 and Polo Way.
“Residents will see an increased police presence in the area and should immediately call 911 to report any suspicious activity. Residents in this area are encouraged to lock their doors and remain inside their residence.
“It is unclear whether the suspect is still in the area.”
