ALABASTER – Alabaster City Schools’ pre-K lottery drawing will take place March 31 as planned, according to information released by the district.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, ACS will conduct a virtual lottery drawing at 9 a.m. on March 31 to determine who has been accepted into the program.
Parents can go to Thslive.com and select ‘Channel Two’ to view this live virtual lottery drawing. The names of winners will be drawn at random and read aloud.
It not necessary to be present during the drawing. All parents of children whose name is drawn to participate in the program will be contacted by email to inform them of their status.
Furthermore, parents will be provided with information regarding next steps as it relates to the child’s enrollment in the pre-K program.
“We appreciate your continued patience with us as we work through this unprecedented event,” the statement reads. “The health and safety of our students and employees continue to be our main priority.”
Online Pre-K registration took placed from Jan. 15 until March 13. Pre-K applicants must live in the city of Alabaster, unless he/she is an employee of ACS or the city of Alabaster. The program is open to children who are 4-years-old on or before Sept. 1.
Meadow View and Creek View elementary schools have three pre-K classes each. Between the two schools, the program can accommodate up to 108 children.
