Walter “W.D.” Taylor, age 86, of Montevallo, passed away Thursday, March 12.

The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, March 15 at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church in Westover. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jervis Young officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War from 1952-1956 and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.

Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his parents, Claudia M. Taylor and Nella Dean Stevens Taylor; brother, Bobby Ray Taylor; and daughter, Tammy Lynn Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Mabeath Moore; daughter, Cindy Freeman (Gaylon); son, David Taylor (Tracy); godson, David Nance (Sherry); grandchildren, Steven N. Freeman (Heather), Cheryl Milam (Brian), Brandy Eberhart (Troy), Jonathan Freeman (Allie), Chaz Taylor, Michael Nance, Matthew Nance, Amy Phillips, Michael Phillips (Kayla), and Laura Wright (Dustin); and ten great grandchildren.
