Funeral Service for Douglas W. Acker, age 82, of Sterrett, will be held Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church in Sterrett. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Acker passed away Tuesday, March 3.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Velma Acker; brother, Ralph Acker; and sisters, Elizabeth Davis (Herbert) and Juanita West.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Shoemaker Acker; his four children, Terry Acker, David E. Acker, Tammy Dorough, and Brandy Acker; six grandchildren, Tiffany Hutchinson (Ben), Sarah Dorough, Courtney Acker, Seth Dorough, Candace Munoz (Gilberto), and Blaine Parks; five great-grandchildren, Maison Underwood, Mattix Underwood, Maevry Underwood, Elenore Hutchinson, and Everly Hutchinson; brothers, James Acker, Judson Locke (Pat), and Paul Locke; and sister-in-law, Maenell Acker.
