Bryan James “BJ” Poe, age 40, of Wilsonville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 28.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 3 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 4 at the funeral home with Rev. Lester McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Era Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

He was born Dec. 31, 1979 in Sylacauga and was the son of James Howard and Syretha Ann (Miller) Poe of Wilsonville. BJ never married or had children of his own, but he helped raise all the children in the family and some outside the family.

BJ was loved by all the kids, adults, and anyone who came in contact with him. BJ was a wonderful son, brother, friend, father figure, uncle, and cousin. BJ was so important and loved in our family and we hope he knows how much.

BJ is survived by his parents, James and Syretha Poe; brother, Ernest Lee Poe (Tami); nephew, Cory Poe; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
