FROM STAFF REPORTS
HELENA – The Hillsboro School is inviting the public to attend a free preschool open house on Thursday, Feb. 13 so those in attendance can meet the staff, students and families to find out everything about the school.
The open house will be from 5-7 p.m. at the school that was founded in 2017 in Helena.
The Hillsboro School is a Montessori School located near Interstate 459 and South Shades Crest Road in Helena. The school offers an inviting environment where students from two-years-old through 12th grade learn based on what they are capable of, rather than being limited by their age. Hillsboro students are given the opportunity to experience and apply “real world” knowledge and skills.
Individual progress, personal relevance and real-world experiences are at the heart of their Montessori philosophy. Students learn how to learn and develop study habits and a curiosity that lasts a lifetime. Their low student to teacher ratio ensures that each student receives individual instruction. Students gain the confidence to ask questions to understand what they’re learning, instead of rote memorization.
At Hillsboro, their mission is to design an environment that empowers students to become the people they are meant to become. Students are prepared for fulfilling and purposeful lives. Because they want them to strive for excellence in everything they do, teachers emphasize healthy habits academically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically. The beauty of Hillsboro’s Montessori philosophy is the development of the whole child and how they nurture each child’s mind, heart and intrinsic motivation to contribute creatively to society.
The Hillsboro School is located at 73 Elvira Road in Helena.
