HOOVER – A Hoover City Schools bus driver has reportedly been arrested for alleged possession of child pornography.

HCS released a statement stating the school system had been aware of the charge against the bus driver, who has driven for the system since October 2018, according to a press release.

“School district authorities are in close communication with law enforcement officials as the investigation continues,” the statement read. “The Hoover Board of Education will act on this matter immediately, decisively and within compliance of the law.”

No further information was to be provided by HCS until after a special-called Board of Education meeting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the central office located off Metropolitan Way in Hoover.
