NORTH SHELBY – The Oak Mountain Middle School Athletic Boosters will host for the second year a breakfast with Santa event on Dec. 7.
The event will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. in the OMMS cafeteria.
“Waffle House is kind enough to donate their time and waffles as well as other items for the breakfast,” said Lisa Alexander, an organizer of the event. “We will have a professional photographer, Kelsey Christian, taking photos with Santa as well.”
The event is open to anyone, and tickets can be purchased through Gofan.com, or by dropping off a form at Oak Mountain Middle School.
“The money benefits the Middle School Athletic Boosters,” Alexander said. “We are hoping that it will grow into a community-wide event and bring everyone from the community, not just Oak Mountain, together. It is a great, safe place for families to share a meal and spend time with Santa. You can also hopefully avoid long lines for a photo with Santa, and kids get to make reindeer food to take home with them.”
The event debuted in 2018 with approximately 100 families in attendance from the area, Alexander said.
A new addition to this year’s event is a vendor table available for $30 so vendors can sell their Christmas items.
Those interested in being a vendor can contact OMMS and request a form to fill out.
Alexander said a limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door, so those planning to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
Tickets will be available online through midnight Dec. 3, or individuals can turn in the forms until Dec. 6 at the OMMS front office.
Athletes from the middle school help serve the families and assist in preparing, setting up, serving, clean-up, and interacting with families, Alexander said.
