FROM STAFF REPORTS
PELHAM – The Shelby County Chamber will host its “23rd Annual Prayer Breakfast” on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.
This year’s program, presented in 2019 by The Jimmie Hale Mission and Birmingham Christian Family Magazine and Turner Promotions will feature Shelby County Commissioner Mike Vest.
The Chamber’s “Prayer Breakfast,” held annually since 1996, offers business-people and community leaders to come together for fellowship, while celebrating and giving thanks for all our many blessings. The program is also time to reflect on what’s truly important in life and what inspires us to make a difference in the lives of others and our communities.
From a young age, Vest, who currently represents District 6 on the Shelby County Commission, learned that life can be tough but it’s not about what life throws at you, it’s about how you react. Through it all, Vest has always looked for the silver lining and relied on his faith to get him through. From childhood struggles–to athlete–to professional country music artist in Nashville–to community activist, Vest has always found a way to overcome.
There is no cost to attend the program, however, breakfast is available for Chamber investors at $20 per person or $30 per person for “Future” investors. Seating is limited, so for proper planning, reservations are requested by no later than Nov. 25.
