Willie Kate Hand will celebrate her 100^th birthday on Dec. 7.

She was born in 1919, and was married for 57 years to Elijah Hand, who passed away in 1992.

She has three children, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She retired as an aid from Shelby Hospital.

At one time she worked in the cotton mills in Columbiana, was a waitress for the Green & White Restaurant and for a few years had her own restaurant called Hand Eat & Chat on Highway 26 in Columbiana.

She has always loved cooking, crocheting, painting ceramics and reading.

She is an amazing woman, and her family is so happy to celebrate with her this major milestone.
