COLUMBIANA – The 2019 Shelby County Fair starts Monday, Nov. 4, and will continue through Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Shelby County Exhibition Center.
The fair has been the main service project of the Kiwanis Club of Columbiana for 70 years.
In addition to outdoor rides and games provided by Kissel Entertainment, the annual event features numerous exhibits with art, quilts, baked goods, livestock and horticulture.
“We have exhibits for adults and exhibits for youth,” Kiwanis Club President Sid Wheeler said. “We’ll have some beautiful quilts and a ton of photographs.”
A “Kiddie Corner” with a miniature barn and trees will be set up for children.
This year’s fair is dedicated to Charles and Joyce Payne, who were instrumental in organizing the event years ago, Wheeler said.
The Shelby County Fair will open at 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.
The cost is $12 per person. Student discount night is Tuesday, and senior discount night is Thursday.
