American Village to hold annual Veterans Day service

MONTEVALLO – The American Village will hold its annual Veterans Day Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, in the Colonial Chapel.
Dr. Michael Miller, pastor of First Baptist Church of Columbiana, will officiate the service.
Organ music will be provided by Dr. Laurie Middaugh from the University of Montevallo. Following the chapel service, guests will follow Birmingham bagpiper Ryan Morrison just steps away to the National Veterans Shrine.
A wreath will be placed at a statue beneath which lay hallowed grounds taken from battlefields around the world where American servicemen and women fought and died for the nation’s liberty.
The service and wreath-laying are free and open to the public.
Family-oriented activities at the American Village will continue through 4 p.m. Nov. 11.
