ALABASTER – Golden Rule BBQ owner Paul Curcio said his new Alabaster restaurant received positive feedback from the community on its opening day, Oct. 14.
“The energy from customers and guests was outstanding,” he said. “They were all excited to have us here. Everyone was so friendly and receptive.”
Curcio said the city of Alabaster was also supportive and helpful with getting the business set up. The menu features options priced at $6, $8 and $10. Those prices include applicable taxes.
“It’s designed to be a simplified operation for our customers and cashiers,” Curcio said. “Quick service is the key feature.”
Because of limited space at the new facility and to ensure taste consistency, most of the food is prepped at the Pelham location each day. However, the Alabaster location does utilize a portable smoker.
The menu includes various chicken, pork and sandwich combo options at each price point. Curcio said one of the most popular menu items is the Blue Plate Special, which includes a meat, two sides and a drink for $10.
Fresh vegetable selections and sides such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, fried okra, French fries, collard greens and more are available every day. The restaurant’s signature banana pudding can be substituted as a side dish. Other available desserts include peach and apple cobbler and a layered chocolate cake.
The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The location does accept call-in orders. There’s an express line for those who call-in their orders. The business is located at 151 Industrial Road, attached to the Exxon gas station. The phone number is 205-406-5557.
