Lucille Mason Howell

Lucille Mason Howell, age 92, was the youngest of 10 children born to William Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Mason at their home in Columbiana. She was born on Aug. 5, 1927.

Lucille died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Aug. 28, surrounded by loving friends and family.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Howell; her father, W.T. Mason; mother, Mary Elizabeth Mason; and all of her brothers and sisters, Herbert Mason (Marie), S.J. “Son” Mason (Margie), George Vernon Mason (Lena Ruth), Onnie Mason (Novalene), Johnny Mason, Lonnie Mason (Sammie), Lela Mason Walton (Lewis), Ila Mason Kirkland (Hubert), and Mary Mason Joiner(Calvin).

She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Lucille was known and loved by many, as she served as a beautician for more than 60 years in Columbiana. She was a kind and giving person with a rich spiritual heritage and was a member of the Calera English Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Services for Lucille were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2 pm, at the Calera Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 839 16^th Street, Calera, AL 35040.
