By stacking up your plate with some hot, buttered pancakes, you can help stack up some funds for a worthy community cause.
The Pelham Public Library Guild will hold its eighth annual pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Pelham Applebee’s on Cahaba Valley Road from 8-10 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit library programming.
“It has always been a very beneficial fundraiser,” said Library Supervisor David Smith. “The Library Guild represents the library, and they raise money through different events such as the Taste of Pelham.”
The pancake breakfast is sponsored by two members of the Guild, Ron and Elizabeth Howard. The Guild is a volunteer organization that focuses on library advocacy.
“He is one of the most steadfast volunteers I have ever met,” Smith said of Howard.
Tickets may be purchased either onsite at the library, located at 2000 Pelham Park Blvd., or at the door the morning of the event. Applebee’s is located at 360 Cahaba Valley Road (Alabama Highway 119). Admission is the same either way.
Plates will include pancakes, sausage links and a breakfast beverage.
