Eugene Caldwell, age 84, of Shelby, passed away Monday, Aug. 12.

The visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bankston. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Caldwell retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. He also retired from civil service at Maxwell AFB. He was a member of the Masons for 50 years at the Masonic Lodge #140 and was also a member of the Shriners. He was active in the Columbiana Senior Center. He was a kind and generous person and a very good Christian man.

Mr. Caldwell is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Fowler Caldwell; and grandson, Ryan Caldwell Hope.

He is survived by his children, Wanda Caldwell Hope and Ramona Caldwell Yartins (Chuck); great granddaughter, Haley Ruiz-Hope; and numerous friends and family.
