CTEC to offer welding class in September

Registration is open for a welding and fabrication class to be held at the Career Technical Educational Center in Columbiana in September.
Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday for eight weeks from 5-7 p.m. starting on Sept. 10.
Welding is open to beginners and those who have taken classes and would like more advanced training.
Participants can choose to learn Oxy fuel cutting and Shielded Metal Arc welding or Oxy fuel cutting and Gas Metal Arc welding (MIG or wire welding).
Students must be at least 18 years old to register.
Students are asked to wear a long-sleeved shirt or jacket and work boots to class.
Fabrication students must have taken a welding class with CTEC.
The advanced students will build something and learn techniques for hobby fabrication at home.
The class instructor is Lynn Miller.
The cost is $280 (payable to Community Education) and is due at time of registration.
The supply fee if $100 for welding and $100 or more for fabrication, depending on price of steel.
The supply fee is payable to Career Technical Educational Center and can be brought to class on the first night.
